RONAN KEATING ATTENDS THE WEDDING OF HIS SISTER LINDA KEATING TO GARDA
MICHAEL HIGGINS IN THE BEAUTFUL SETTING OF STRAFFAN, CO. KILDARE.
There was no need for Linda Keating to utter the words 'Get me to the church on time' before her recent marriage to Garda Michael Higgins! Colleagues of
Michael, who is stationed at the Traffic Division in Dublin Castle, arranged a Garda escort for Linda, as her brother Ronan played chauffer for the day
and drove her to the Church of Ireland chapel in Straffan, County Kildare for her wedding ceremony.
Ronan has always been very close to his older sister and has Linda to thank for encouraging him to pursue a singing career in the first place. An intimate gathering of 40 close family and friends attended the ceremony, while 200 further guests joined Linda and Michael for their reception in the plush surrounds of the K Club.
The colour theme of the wedding was very seasonal, using gold and burgundy, and Linda looked stunning in a gold raw silk skirt and burgundy fitted top with ornate gold embroidery.
The Keating clan, Linda's father Gerry and brothers Ciaran, Gerard, Gary and Ronan all gathered for this joyous day, but this was also tinged with
sadness with the absence of their mother, Marie who lost her battle with breast cancer in 1998. However, through the phenomenal work of the Marie
Keating Foundation which Linda is instrumental in, her memory will live on and enrich the lives of the newlyweds.
