How about a live or acoustic album?
Possibly next year.
What are your future tour plans? Do they include Australia, Scotland, Switzerland and other European destinations?
Well, as you know, I'm in the studio at the moment recording the next album. I hope to have it finished by early 2006, so the next tour plans are for late spring/summer 2006... definitely the whole UK, Europe and hopefully further afield. I'd love to go back to Australia - I loved it out there.
Is there going to be a DVD of this tour, or maybe recorded at one of the summer gigs?
Well, again its possible that next year we might be doing something. There will definitely be a cool DVD of the whole Walk Ireland 05 experience, which I'm really excited about.
You have obviously done many live performances, solo and with Boyzone, is there one that really sticks out in your memory and if so why?
My solo gig in Johannesburg on the South African tour, July 2002... just a magic venue, and 12,000 people losing their minds. Also Belfast when I lost my voice at the end of the Destination tour - the fans were just amazing that night and pulled me through the worst night of my career... which became one of the best.
If you could have a 'groundhog' day, which day would you choose and why?
The day Yvonne and I got married in the Caribbean.
I read in an interview that your next single will be "connected" What kind of music is it. Is it a ballad or more up-tempo?
Whoa!! Its not confirmed that it will be the next single! Its a great track though (Steve: I agree - cool tune) and quite up tempo - just gets in your head.
What's the last concert you have visited yourself? And what was your favourite concert ever?
Last one - Bryan Adams, best ever, U2 in Madison Square Garden on the "Beautiful Day" tour.
Can u touch your nose with your tongue?
Yes
If I could stand u a drink sometime - what would it be? A) pint of guinness B) jd & c? C) frangelino?
JD, no contest.
What do you take with you wherever you go and can't live without? (other then the wife and kids)?
my PowerBook and mobile!!
I know you haven’t even finished Walk Ireland 05 yet but what can you see yourself up for in the future?
Ask me on Monday afternoon.
Do you have any particular favourite songs to sing live? Do you prefer singing your more upbeat songs or the ballads?
I love singing the Long Goodbye. I was surprised that it was the fans favourite in the vote but I'm happy about that. I love both the ballads and up tunes.
How many tattoos do you have now (that you want to mention) why did you get them and what do they mean? And did you scream when you got them?
I've got 3 - one's a celtic cross, one is the Japanese symbol for love and the other is a Maori design. No I didn't scream (liar)
Is there anything you can tell us that you think that the fans don't know about you?
Probably, but you guys seem to know an awful lot. Even things I don't know about me (laughs). I've got long toenails.
You often do "covers" on your tours, but they don't often appear on your albums (Train - Drops of Jupiter springs to mind) Is there one cover that you would really like to record or perform that you haven't done yet...?
I'd love to record the New Radical's track "Someday We'll Know". Its just a fantastic track and I always loved the version we did live a few tours ago.
If you had one wish which will be fulfilled immediately, what would it be?
That my kids will grow up strong and have long and healthy lives.
Have you still got the car the Boyzone lads bought you for your 21st / the bike that you and Yvonne arrived on to your party? What about the teddy Andi Peters showed to the world on tv, Treggs?
No, no and no... I'm not much of a horder.
With the next addition to the Keating family on the way and so much success since the 'Life is a Rollercoaster' book do you have any plans to write the next instalment of your autobiography?
Well, I'm hoping to do a photo-driven book quite soon. Just some shots that sum up life as it has been over the past while...
‘those’ moves to Lovin’ Each Day were the planned originally or a spur of the moment action?
What are you talking about? What moves?
Possibly next year.
