www.cybergolf.com/state.asp?stateid=78&newsid=3135An all-star line-up of top professional golfers and sports and entertainment celebrities joined golfing legend Gary Player and Irish singer Ronan Keating on July 18th at The K Club in Ireland for this year's Gary Player Invitational charity golf event. The event appears to have broken the record ground for fundraising; initial estimates are that over $400,000 was generated. The money will be shared between the event's three beneficiaries – The Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, The Player Foundation and Marie Keating Foundation. Leading golfers who attended included Tim Clark, Lee Westwood, Paul Casey, Andrew Coltart and Alastair Forsyth, as well as other celebrities such as Alan Hansen, Gary Lineker, David Ginola, Kenny Dalglish, Sir Bobby Charlton,Matt Dawson, Michael Stich and Jodie Kidd. The business community was also in attendance. Led by Coca-Cola, companies such as Davenport Lyons, Boschendal, Pringle, Callaway, Tag Heuer, Dell Computers, Coutts Private Banking and PWC pledged generous amounts in the unique event.
