Kylie to Follow in Ro's Footsteps-Babe's Note to Keating
Ronan Keating has revealed he received a note from cancer-stricken Kylie after he finished his 361-mile charity walk across Ireland.
The superstar -recovering from a breast cancer op- wrote to Keating to say she plans to join the battle to raise cancer awareness.
"It came totally out of the blue," said Ronan. "Kylie must have heard or read about what I was doing and got in touch to give me her support."
She also thanked him for his efforts to raise awareness of the disease.
Currently recuperating in a Melbourne hospital, the former Neighbours star went on to tell Keating that she is on the road to recovery.
"Kylie told me she was feeling much better after her operation and that when she got back on her feet that she'd be doing the exact same sort of thing I'm doing now," said Ronan.
To date, Keating's walk –which began on The Giants Causeway in Co. Antrim on May 16 and ended last Monday in Kinsale- has raised €110,000 for cancer charities. You can still make a donation by texting Walk 05 to 57786.
Ronan said: "For younger women who thought that breast cancer was something that happens to older people, Kylie's diagnosis was a wake-up call."
After resting his sore legs, Keating is preparing to get back into the studio and do what he does best –make music.
Star Sunday can exclusively reveal that the former Boyzone singer is in talks with super-producer Trevor Horn to do his new LP.
Horn has worked with some of the biggest acts of the eighties and nineties including Frankie Goes to Hollywood and ABC.
Keating said: "The songs we've got to work with are amazing. I did all of them with Gregg Alexander who did Life is a Rollercoaster-we've eight more as good as that," said Ronan.
He also revealed that he is planning to follow his duet with Leann Rimes with another double act-this time with Shania Twain.
He hopes it will help his planned US assault.
"My Greatest Hits album did very well over there and as a result we've hooked up with a new company who want to market my next record in the States and have a big budget to do it," said Ronan.
