ROD Stewart, Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne, James Brown, Will Young and Emma Bunton will headline one of the biggest free concerts London has ever seen, to celebrate the Olympic flame's arrival in the city in the run up to the Athens Olympics.
The marathon Olympic Torch Concert - which will be officially launched later today - will take place on Saturday June 26 in a specially-constructed outdoor arena in The Mall adjacent to Buckingham Palace.
Around 70,000 people will be able to attend the six hour event, which also features artists like Jamelia and McFly, plus many more as-yet-unannounced acts. It is understood that Black Eyed Peas are also trying to juggle their Glastonbury commitment to make an appearance.
The enormous stage is being designed by world-famous stage set designer Mark Fisher - the man behind U2's last three world tours and the last four Rolling Stones world tours
The climax of the concert will see Rod Stewart perform, supported by Ozzy and Kelly Osbourne, as the torch is run up The Mall by Sir Steve Redgrave, five times Olympic Gold medallist.
Tickets for the concert - which echoes the historic Golden Jubilee Concert in Buckingham Palace grounds in the summer of 2002 - will be allocated by ballot.
The ticket telephone hotline 090 11 12 13 14 will open today, Wednesday 2nd June from 9am, until noon Wednesday 9th June. From noon on Friday 4 June ticket applications can also be made online at www.visitlondon.com until noon on Wednesday 9th June. Successful ticket applicants will be decided by ballot and mailed tickets at the latest by 21 June.
