SILENCE ON BOYZ REUNION
Pop super-manager Louis Walsh refused to speak out last night on allegations he has manufactured the rumoured Boyzone reunion just to have a dig at ex-protege Ronan Keating.
Throughout the last few weeks the music business has been filled with speculation that Boyzone are to reform. But now it's claimed the saga is only part of the ongoing feud between Walsh and the bands former front man, Ronan Keating.
A Dublin based spokeswoman for Louis Walsh told The Star, "Louis says he doesn't know anything about this allegation, so he's not interested in saying anything on it. He won't be making a comment on it."
Ronan Keating is also silent on the claims that his former mentor concocted the reunion just to have a pop at him. The two enemies are central figures in the rumoured hook-up, but neither camp has officially broken its silence on the showbiz gossip.
High profile names including Gareth Gates and Pop Idol contestant Andy Scott Lee have been bandied about as possible stand ins. It's alleged that the whole debacle was dreamed up by Louis Walsh (50) simply to get at Ronan(28).
"Louis and Ronan fell out in 2002 when Ronan sacked him as his manager," a source told the Star. "Ever since then Louis has taken every opportunity to slag Ronan off." The insider added, "A pal of Ronan's told me, 'He's trying to stay out of it, but its depressing him. He used to look up to Louis so much'."
